Absorbent Minds
Children between birth and 6years of age are at their most sensitive absorbent stage. At this stage they learn differently than adults. They soak up vast amounts of knowledge, effortlessy, continuosly and indiscriminately. Absorbing language, community traits, behaviour etc, from 0-3years its the unconscious absorbent stage, 3-6years is the conscious stage.

Infant and Toddler
1-3year olds absorb information unconsciously. They go through their developmental stages with out effort and knowing. They mimic their environments. At this stage the child is only aware of their own needs.

Pre Schooler
3-6year olds, their sponge-like minds continue to absorb information easily. At this stage they will demostrate an innate, and intense desire to make decesions themselves and seek out independence. They are predisposed to learning skills like order, early math, sequencing, letter sounds and shapes, music, and language. These skills prepare the child for reading and problem solving skills in Numeracy.
Why EarlyEducation Matters
At Spongy Beings, we are inspired by the Montessori curriculum, our learning areas
designed with the child in mind. Shelves that are easy to reach for the little ones,
trays, and apparatus that is appealing to the curious eye of the child.

“Our work is not to teach, but to help the absorbent mind in its work of development. How marvelous it would be if by our help, if by an intelligent treatment of the child if by understanding the needs of his physical life and by feeding his intellect, we could prolong the period of functioning of the absorbent mind!”
